Family Identity Card : Gopalganj Model

To implement technology based, transparent, neutral and sustainable system to ensure equitable distribution of all government assistance, Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner has initiated preparation and distribution: Gopalganj Model of “Family Identity Card” based on economic capability for all levels of families in the district namely upper, upper middle, middle class, lower middle class and lower class families has been started it’s activities Gopalganj District Administration.

The target has been set for the creation and distribution of family identity cards for 3 lakh 25 thousand families in Gopalganj. Any government assistance will be distributed digitally through this card. The cards will be considered as the categories  A B C D and E based on economic efficiency. With this card, the socio-economic picture of the district will be revealed. Currently, food items are being delivered to the A and B category card families through home service, after which the C and D category families will get these benefits and various assistance will be sought from them subject to discussion with the people of E card holders – Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shahida Sultana gave the detailed description of the Family Identity Card.

Deputy Commissioner Shahida Sultana added that Family Identity Cards will have versatile uses. This card will sell OMS rice and products. All government assistance can also be provided through this card. In the future, this card will be an integrated way to provide all government facilities. No family in the district will be deprived of the benefit of the Family Identity Card.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner informed the latest situation of corona situation and relief distribution in Gopalganj and took various views from the journalists to deal with corona and requested the people of the district to follow the lockdown or government directives to prevent the spread of corona virus.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Kazi Shahidul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Abdullah Al Baki, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Sadikur Rahman Khan, NDC Md. Mahbubul Alam, Executive Magistrate Mamun Khan were present at the press conference.
